Non-Surigcal Nose Job
Are you concerned about the appearance of your nose but you don’t want surgery? If so, the Non-Surgical Nose Job may be right for you.
What is the Non-Surgical Nose Job?
Your nose is the central feature of your face and therefore the appearance of your nose has a big impact on how your face looks. The Non-Surgical Nose Job is treatment where fillers are used to improve the appearance of your nose. The Non-Surgical Nose Job is minimally invasive and since it does not involve surgery, there’s no anesthesia or incisions. Also, your recovery will be very fast. Even though placing fillers in the nose actually makes the it larger, it straightens out the nose and improves imperfections, making the nose blend in with the rest of your face. Although fillers are used in many areas of the face and body such as the lips, cheeks, and under-eyes, the nose is an advanced area and requires special training. Dr. Alex has taken multiple courses on the use of fillers in the nose by experts such as Dr. Alexander Rivkin, the pioneer of the treatment.
What can the Non-Surgical Nose Job do?
There are many things that the Non-Surgical Nose Job can do for you. People have different concerns about the appearance of their nose. A common one is a bump or hump on the bridge of the nose. The Non-Surgical Nose Job can flatten these bumps. In such cases, filler is added above and below the bump as seen in the before and after picture shown here. This gives a smooth appearance to the bridge of the nose. In certain ethnicities such as Asians, Africans, and African-Americans, the bridge of the nose has the opposite appearance, it’s too flat and there is not enough structure on the bridge of the nose. This sometimes makes it difficult to wear eyeglasses or sunglasses. In such cases, the Non-Surgical Nose Job can provide structure to the bridge of the nose. The Non-Surgical Nose Job can also correct asymmetries in the nose and lift up a droopy tip. All of these corrections make the nose blend in with the rest of the face. This will help boost your self-confidence and make you feel better.

What will happen during my Non-Surgical Nose Job treatment?
Before your Non-Surgical Nose Job treatment, you will have a consultation with Dr. Alex so that he can examine your face and make specific recommendations. We’ll take pictures of your face to monitor your progress and apply numbing cream to the area for about 15 minutes. Then we’ll remove the numbing cream and clean your skin to prevent infection. Dr. Alex uses a painless injection technique with a small needle that makes the Non-Surgical Nose Job treatment precise, safer, and more comfortable. We’ll cool down your skin using cold air; this numbs the area even more. And we apply a vibrator distractor on your skin near the area. The Non-Surgical Nose Job treatment itself only takes a few minutes, which is why some call it the Five-Minute Nose Job. Immediately after your Non-Surgical Nose Job treatment, Dr. Alex will apply an anti-bruise pad on your skin. This will decrease swelling and the risk of bruising. Leave the pad on your skin until you go to sleep. At bedtime, remove the anti-bruise pad and replace it with another one we will provide and leave that on overnight.
When will I see results from my Non-Surgical Nose Job?
The best thing about the Non-Surgical Nose Job is that you’ll see your results right away. You may have some swelling that can exaggerate the results. But the swelling will go down mostly in the first few days and completely after two weeks. Dr. Alex will call you the day after your Non-Surgical Nose Job and recommends returning to the office twice after your Non-Surgical Nose Job, once two weeks after the about two weeks and again four weeks later. At those times, a small touch-up can be performed, if desired.
How long will the results of my Non-Surgical Nose Job last?
Results from fillers in general can last anywhere from six month to two years (or sometimes longer). This depends on the product used, the area where it was placed, and the person. Dr. Alex uses Voluma for the Non-Surgical Nose Job because it is safe and lasts longer than any other hyaluronic acid filler product. When fillers are placed in certain areas such as the lips where there is a lot of movement, they get degraded faster. But in the nose, you don’t have this kind of movement, so you’ll enjoy your results longer. Also, some people metabolize injectable products such as Voluma and Botox faster than others. These people will require maintenance treatments more frequently. In general, most people enjoy the results of their Non-Surgical Nose Job for a year and a half to two years. At that time, Dr. Alex recommends a maintenance treatment.
What filler is used in the Non-Surgical Nose Job?
Dr. Alex uses Voluma for the Non-Surgical Nose Job. Voluma is a dermal filler in the Juvederm family. The active ingredient in Voluma is a sugar called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid works by drawing water into your skin to provide volume. Voluma is a perfect product for the nose since it is firm and can provide the strong structural support required in the nose.
What should I do after my Non-Surgical Nose Job?
You will be able to relax in our office for about an hour after your Non-Surgical Nose Job. Dr. Alex will check to make sure everything is ok before you leave. Avoid heat exposure, alcohol consumption, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your Non-Surgical Nose Job. Heat exposure refers to staying in the hot sun for prolonged periods. Also avoid other hot environments such as a hot bath, sauna, or steam room. Additionally, avoid hot or spicy foods such as hot coffee, hot tea, or soup. Iced coffee and iced tea are ok. Strenuous exercise is anything that makes you sweat or short of breath. All of these things will bring blood to the skin and can lead to side effects such as bruising. Your nose may be swollen after your Non-Surgical Nose Job. Dr. Alex recommends applying cold compresses such as an ice pack five minutes at a time as much as necessary. Dr. Alex also recommends sleeping on an extra pillow and avoiding salty foods for a few days after your Non-Surgical Nose Job to decrease any swelling. On the rare occasion where some people get a bruise, it can be easily treated with a complimentary laser bruise treatment as early as the next business day. To further decrease the risk of bruising, avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, Ginko biloba, ibuprofen (Advil, Alleve), vitamin E supplements, fish oil, flax seed oil, and St. John’s wort for several days before and after your Non-Surgical Nose Job treatment. To prevent undesired results, avoid wearing heavy eyeglasses or sunglasses for a few days if they put direct pressure on the areas where the product was placed.
