Do you have veins or tendons that show on the back of your hands? If so, Voluma can help.
What happens to the hands over time?
Over time everything in your body changes. Aging is commonly seen on your face and neck, but it can also bee seen on the backs of your hands. One of the things that happens in the backs of your hands is loss of volume. Due to age, weight loss, and/or genetics, you can lose the fat in the backs of your hands. When this happens, you can see tendons and veins in the backs of your hands. Also, with daily sun exposure over years you can see sun spots and loose skin on the backs of your hands. Sun spots and loose skin can be treated with lasers.
What is Voluma?
Voluma is a dermal filler that is used to restore volume to your skin. Voluma is in the Juvederm collection of dermal fillers. Over time you loose volume in your face and other areas and fillers such as Voluma can be used to naturally restore your youthful appearance. The active ingredient in Voluma is a sugar called hyaluronic acid that’s naturally found in your skin. When Voluma is placed in your skin, the hyaluronic acid draws water into your skin to restore the lost volume and provide you with a fresh and rejuvenated appearance. Voluma provides very natural-looking results. In fact, many people say that others do not notice a big difference in them after they have a Voluma treatment. Instead, they say that people say they look more rested. Voluma is also very safe and provides long-lasting results. Most people enjoy the results of their Voluma treatment for one to two years depending on how much product is used.
What can Voluma do for my hands?
Just like in the face, you can lose volume in the backs of your hands. When this happens, your veins and tendons can be more visible. Voluma can be placed in the backs of your hands to restore the volume and reduce the appearance of these pesky veins and tendons. A treatment with Voluma in the backs of your hands is really easy. Before your Voluma treatment we will take baseline pictures of your hands to monitor your progress. Then we’ll apply numbing cream for about 15 minutes. When Dr. Alex uses Voluma for the hands, he uses a cannula. A cannula is an instrument that looks like a needle. The difference is that unlike a needle, a cannula does not have a sharp tip. Also, a cannula is longer than a needle and it is flexible. The advantage of this is that the cannula can be placed in the skin with a single injection point and all of the Voluma can be placed in your skin through there, making it easy. It’s really easy for Dr. Alex to use a cannula in the hands because it’s flat (unlike the natural curves you have in your face). You’ll see the results of your Voluma treatment right away and you’ll enjoy the results of your Voluma treatment for one to two years, depending on how your hands look before the treatment, how much Voluma is used, and your individual metabolism.
