Dr. Alex attended the Medical Spa Show 2020 from Friday January 31, 2020 through Sunday February 2, 2020 at the Aria hotel in Las Vegas, NV. This is the first time Dr. Alex attended this conference and only the third year the conference has been held.
The Medical Spa Show is organized by Amspa, an organization dedicated to helping medical spas. Specifically, Amspa organizes events such as the Medical Spa Show and boot camps throughout the country with a focus on training and legal and business aspects of non-surgical aesthetics. The Medical Spa Show brought together doctors, nurses, and practice managers from medical spas around the country. This was another outstanding educational opportunity for Dr. Alex to learn from the talks, see what’s new in the exhibit hall, and network with others. Dr. Alex attended talks on topics including IPL photofacial treatments, filler injections for the lips, rejuvenation of the jawline and lower face, staff training, customer service, social media, marketing, and legal aspects of running a medical spa. This unique conference offered at least three simultaneous tracks on medical training, marketing, and legal issues. The exhibit hall featured a variety of companies such as Allergan, makers of Botox, Voluma, Vollure, Volbella, and Kybella, Sciton, makers of the Forever Young BBL IPL photofacial, and Alastin, makers of the Skin Nectar. Alastin just released a new product we started carrying called INhance, a product which decreases the risk of bruising after an injectable treatment. Dr. Alex had opportunities to meet new people and see friends including Dr. Patrick Bitter, Dr. Sherly Soleiman, and Dr. Anil Rajani. The highlight of the Medical Spa Show was a party on Friday night hosted by Allergan.
The Medical Spa Show is one of the many opportunities Dr. Alex takes advantage of to continue his education. Dr. Alex will be attending the Los Angeles Multispecialty Cosmetic Academy (LAMCA) in March 2020.
